David Lloyd

Research Fellow, 2023 – Present

Dr. David Lloyd completed his PhD in 2018 at the University of York, his research focused on the dynamic behaviour of Nickel and Palladium catalysts under reducing and oxidising environments using in-situ transmission electron microscopy (TEM). In 2019 he moved to Japan to take up a postdoctoral post at the Okinawa Institute of Science and Technology (OIST). Here his work involved the growth and characterisation of novel 2D van der Waals materials. Then, in 2021 he returned to York as a postdoc on a Japanese funded project to investigate interfacial structure of novel Heusler alloys for use in magnetoresistive junctions.

Interests: Electron microscopy, crystallography, Nanoscale characterisation, metrology.
