Dr Zhiyong Zhao

Research Fellow 2024 – present

Dr. Zhiyong Zhao obtained his Bachelor’s degree in condensed matter physics from Nankai University, China (2015-2019). He then commenced his doctoral research, under the supervision of Prof. Ge Wang at Beijing Normal University (2019-2024). During his Ph.D., he focused his research on low-dimensional semiconductor heterostructures for CO2 photoreduction under visible light. Furthermore, he is engaged in optimising the positive electrode architecture for high areal capacity lithium-ion batteries. This is a collaborative project under the supervision of Prof. John Irvine and Prof. Ge Wang.

In September 2024, he joined the JTSI group as a Postdoctoral Research Fellow. His principal research interests align with the fields of lithium-ion batteries and photocatalysts.
