Group Administrator to Prof. J. T S Irvine’s Research Group & Dr Scott Lilley, Project Manager, NEXGENNA. January 2020 – Present. Having joined the University of St Andrews in 2016 following a career in Recruitment, she took up post of Secretary in the School of Chemistry. In this role she worked closely with the Undergraduate Secretary whilst delivering administrative and secretarial support to academics and students within the department. In January 2020, Gillian progressed her career and took up post of Group Administrator in Professor John Irvine’s Research Group where she provides administrative support to a large group of researchers. This incorporates, administrative and secretarial support to Dr Scott Lilley, Project Manager and Professor John Irvine, Principle Investigator of Nexgenna. Nexgenna is a £12m project, led by the University of St Andrews as part of a £55m funding round for research into energy storage. The research is on creating a safe, cheap, long-lasting battery which could revolutionise electric travel and renewable energy storage. The next generation in sodium-ion batteries.
