Selda Özkan

Research Fellow, 2020 – Present

Dr. Selda Özkan obtained her M.Sc. Degree in Material Science & Engineering from the Istanbul Technical University, Turkey. In January 2013, she joined Prof. Patrik Schmuki`s group as a Ph.D. candidate at the University of Erlangen-Nurnberg, Germany. During her Ph.D., she prepared TiO2 nanotubes by electrochemical process and investigated them as catalyst support for PEMFCs.

Selda worked as Postdoctoral Research Fellow in Prof. Schmuki`s group and synthesized noble metal-based bimetallic nanoparticles for electrocatalytic systems. In August 2020, she joined the group of Professor John Irvine as a Postdoctoral Research Fellow. Her main research interests focus on the development of functional electrode materials and semiconductors, and tailoring the structure and morphology of materials for energy-related applications.
