Research Fellow, 2020 – Present
Dr Duncan Nowicki graduated from the University of Strathclyde with a Master’s degree in Chemical Engineering, Duncan began studying for his PhD in late 2015 at the University of Aberdeen under the supervision of Professor Iain Gibson and Professor Jan Skakle. His PhD research was centred on assessing the potential of the calcium phosphate hydroxyapatite (Ca10(PO4)6(OH)2) in carbon capture and CO2 utilisation. This was achieved through the synthesis and characterisation of a range of carbonated hydroxyapatite materials followed by the testing of these materials as reversible solid carbon dioxide sorbents.
He joined the JTSI Group in August 2020, examining the production of syngas using solid oxide electrolyser cells (SOECs).
